FREE CONCERT READING OF A NEW PLAY
HIRAETH, by E. Kyle minor
The Dressing Room Theatre
May 4, 7:30pm
Hiraeth concerns a man who, after more than 30 years, returns to his childhood.
He never leaves.
Hiraeth, set in Silvermine on a seasonably beautiful, autumn afternoon, begins breezily enough when Tommy returns to his childhood home after more than a 30-year absence. Sara, who, presently lives there with her husband and two young children, peppers Tommy with questions about various curiosities of the house, yard and neighborhood. As Tommy dives deeply into his buried past and confronts unresolved terrors, his visit goes tragically awry. Hiraeth deals with such themes as nostalgia, mental illness and, ultimately, loss.
E. Kyle Minor (Playwright), born and raised in Silvermine, has several original plays and adaptations to his credit that have been performed in New York City, Connecticut and throughout New England. As a freelance theater critic and features writer, Minor has covered the performing arts for the NY Times, New Haven Register, Stamford Advocate and several other publications throughout Connecticut and Westchester County, NY.
Minor, who earned his MFA in Dramatic Writing from Brandeis University, lives in Danbury where he and his wife, actress Priscilla A. Squiers, raised their four children continue dabbling in local theater.

COMEDY NIGHTS
June 12 & 13, 2026
Stamford's favorite funny man, Michael "Motts" Pelazza, is back blending his own style of observational storytelling and comedy with terrific timing and improv skills. Each night Motts brings in terrific headliners to join him in the Dressing Room Theatre. (These comedy nights are not recommended for those under 16 or those who are easily offended.)
8pm each night. Doors open at 7:00pm with a BYOEverything format.
Motts Pelazza has been performing comedy throughout the country for the last 45 years. He has opened for Damon Wayans, Billy Gardell, Tommy Davidson, Kevin Meaney, and Patrice O’Neil. He has performed at Carolines and Don’t Tell Mamas in NYC, the Palace Theatre in Stamford, CT, and the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts. Motts has also been on "Impractical Jokers" and, as a lifelong resident of Stamford, and a retired mailman of 46 years, like he delivered the mail all those years, he promises to deliver the laughs!
