Her choreography’s been produced throughout Boston, NYC, Fairfield and Westchester Counties, as well as Curtain Call, Darien High School, Westhill High School and Sacred Heart University. In 1999, she founded The Reach Dance Project. Emily’s taught with Darien Arts Center, Ridgefield Studio of Performing Arts, Connecticut Ballet, City Center Dance and Curtain Call.

A director’s job is like creating a painting: your stage is the blank canvas, your actors and technicians are your brushes, and the colors, textures and intensity are added according to your vision. Explore the fundamentals of directing and present your own, final directing project at the end of the session! Brian Borowka teaches dramatic arts at Greenwich Academy where he’s written and directed several productions. He led the drama program at the Webb School in California, received his MFA in playwriting from Arizona State University and studied directing under Marshall Mason, one of the founders of the Circle Rep Theatre.

A well-rounded exploration of acting, improv, music, dance and basic stage craft with a showcase performance adapted from classic children’s literature.

Students work in age-appropriate groups under area professionals specialized in the performing arts. All programs take place at the Sterling Farms Theatre Complex, with two stages, two studio classrooms and air-conditioning. Each two-week session culminates in a showcase performance for an invited audience! All students should bring a lunch and should dress comfortably and wear appropriate footwear: no flip-flops, sandals, open-toed shoes or “heelies." |
